Trash can cleaning
in Loxahatchee & Westlake, FL.

Out west, we clean garbage carts and recycling bins in Loxahatchee Groves and the City of Westlake at the roadside after collection, and leave a Bin Health Report on the lid.

YOUR LOXAHATCHEE & WESTLAKE PICKUP

Two towns, two collection systems

Loxahatchee Groves: Coastal Waste & Recycling collects Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday, depending on your zone. Everything must be out by 7 a.m., in the Town-provided cart, within 6 feet of the road. Missed pickups go to Coastal at (561) 455-3160.

Westlake: the City contracts with Waste Management. Garbage is collected Tuesday and Friday, recycling on Tuesday, and carts must be at the curb before 6:00 a.m. Each home gets a 48-gallon trash container and blue and yellow recycling bins, and residents can buy a second container or a 96-gallon one.

Homes in unincorporated Loxahatchee are served by the Solid Waste Authority instead. Whichever applies, send your address and we’ll book the clean right after a garbage day.

Collection rules change. Check your city or hauler for current days.

What comes out when you open the lid

An Open University study found that bins holding household waste can release bioaerosols (airborne bacteria, fungi and endotoxin) when they’re opened. It tested sealed bins as a worst case and said normal levels shouldn’t be a problem for most healthy adults. Less residue in the cart means less to stir up.
